The trail steeply rises along the old sheep trail used by the inhabitants of Armenzano to bring their flocks to pasture on the top of Subasio. The path starts at "Trocchi di Armenzano”, a place that takes its name from the tanks called “Trocchi”, which were used to water the flocks. After the water cistern of the town, turn right and follow the sheep track that leads to the pastures. Here path 55 joins the path 61 and climbs to 1160 m, where you get out of the woods and reach the summit. Partridges and hares are frequently seen in this point. You can get to Mortaro of Troscia at 1212 m. The trail ends when you reach Mortaro Refuge, 1284 m high.
