Hotel Ideale is a fabulous home base in the middle of it all, high on the hill overlooking everything.
The hotel has absolutely stunning views of the valley from the terrace and of the rooms.
The hotel backs onto the rear of the Duomo where St Francis was baptised.
You can use it as a base not only to see Assisi but to undertake day trips to various Umbrian hill towns such as Perugia, Montefalco, Spoleto, Orvieto, Spello and Trevi.
The hotel has free parking and is on the bus route from the train station (Piazza Mateotti).
It is in the high end of Assisi about a 15 minutes walk to the Basilica of Saint Francis, a 5 minutes walk to Saint Clare’s and a 10 minutes walk to the central square.
A quick bus ride takes you to the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels.
Central location reachable by car, you can’t drive more into Assisi anyhow.
You can drive to the hotel and park in there free parking space and walk easily into the hilly town of Assisi from there.
